Giuliana Rancic Returning To Work After Cancer Surgery


Giuliana Rancic is recovery at home after undergoing a double lumpectomy following her recent revelation she is battling breast cancer. The E News anchor's husband Bill Rancic gave fans an update of her condition on the Today Show on Thursday (20th October 2011).

Speaking after his wife had undergone the surgery, Bill said, "She's a trouper, she pulled through it and was kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out and is doing well at home" He added that it had been "a long day", but explained he and Giuliana were remaining positive because the cancer was caught "very, very early". Although the E! host will now undergo radiation treatment, she is planning on returning to work next week, with Bill saying, "She's excited.But she's really viewing life a little bit differently. It's funny, when you go through a situation like this, it really turns the volume down on the things that really aren't that important". The television presenter first disclosed news of the cancer on the Today Show earlier this week, saying her Ivf doctor advised her to get a routine mammogram, which ultimately revealed the disease.

Rancic is best known for her regular anchoring duties at award ceremonies and red carpet events such as the Golden Globes, Academy Awards and the Emmys.
