Normally when stars pose on the red carpet, they love to show off their gorgeous gowns and sparkling jewels.

Not Evan Rachel Wood!

The actress hit the red carpet at the Critics' Choice Awards in a strapless black gown, tight updo and minimal Dana Rebecca Designs Anna Beth earrings -- all of which were designed to show off the giant tattoo at the nape of her neck. Evan's tattoo reads "All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream" -- a quote from poet Edgar Allen Poe.

Evan's tattoo was a highlight on an otherwise bland red carpet -- black and white dominated, with George Clooney, Stacy Keibler, Michelle Williams, Charlize Theron and more opting to go without color. Thankfully, Hollywood's next generation of stars, including Elizabeth Olsen and Elle Fanning chose more festive frocks.
