Would You Wear Liberty-Print Doc Martens?

If you grew up in the 1980s and 1990s, you'll remember Doc Martens—those mid-century-old British-made clompers that graced the wardrobes of everyone, from the preppiest (or punk-iest) high school student to Sinead O'Connor. Docs were regulars on the pages of Sassy and, throughout the 90s and early 00s, made appearances on the coolest runways— including Raf Simons and Yohji Yamamoto.

Last month, iconic London department store-slash-textiles company Liberty of London released its first-ever collaboration with Doc Martens. You can see the full range of products here. The 1460 8-hole combat boots—printed in classic Liberty florals!—just arrived Stateside at Free People. What do you think?

One of the hallmarks of Docs of the 90s was that they could be worn with nearly any outfit—from the grungiest grungy plaid to the preppiest khaki to the cutest, girliest babydoll dress. And, sure, Docs have always come in a variety of colors and textures (and even specially-stitched graphics—like these Union Jack flag boots).

But what do you think of this marriage of ultra-feminine sweet ditsy florals and tough-girl lace-up combats? Would you wear them? What would you wear them with?
