Though Drake snagged a BET award for Best Male Hip Hop Artist, he was a no-show at Los Angeles' Shrine Auditorium on Sunday evening. It might have been for the best, considering his ongoing feud with performer Chris Brown.
On Saturday, Brown made it clear that he's still seething over the bottle-throwing incident that went down at Manhattan's W.i.P. nightclub a few weeks ago, issuing a few obvious jabs at his Canadian rival in a freestyle remix of "I Don't Like" featuring The Game. In a sorely uninspired set of verses, Brown seems to challenge Drake to a fair fight, rapping, "One on one, what you scared bruh? Matter fact, take care bruh," later referring to the Take Care rapper as a "p**sy n**ga." Spoken like a true artist.
While Brown and Drake allegedly brawled over pop superstar Rihanna, with whom they've both had assignations, it does not appear that Chris holds any hard feelings towards the woman one lawyer compared to "Helen of Troy." Though Brown likened his ex to a "bad fur" in a previous remix, he tweeted his condolences over the passing of her grandmother, Dolly Braithwaite, on Sunday, writing, "Praying for family and the lost loved one. She was like my grandmother. Love you GRAN GRAN! RIP."
Rihanna did not respond to Brown's tweet directly over Twitter (it would be bad for business, at this point), but she did have a sweet exchange with his mother:
