Robert Downey Jr. Injures Ankle On "Iron Man 3" Set

Causing a slight disruption in the original filming schedule, "Iron Man 3" has been put on hold while the star of the film, Robert Downey Jr, rests up after a recent ankle injury.

On Wednesday (August 15), Marvel Studios released a statement about the incident, explaining, "Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt, there will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates."

The 47 year-old actor has currently been hard at work filming the third installment of his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the uber-successful action-packed flick.

At this time, the plot for the movie is still unknown, but rumors have swirled claiming that Robert's character could head to China to face his toughest opponent, Mandarin.

"Iron Man 3" is due out in theaters in 2013.
