Though neither Blake Lively, nor Ryan Reynolds are from Charleston, the couple's courting history makes it clear that the city holds a special place in their hearts.

On Sunday, the "Green Lantern" star and his 25-year-old bride wed in a secret ceremony at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant.

A source tells People, "[Reynolds] had [gone] there as a child, locals say. It's one of his favorites and he brought [Lively] there to vacation."

Throughout their relationship, the two made several trips to the southern city. Over Thanksgiving, they stayed at a bed and breakfast and reportedly "seemed very at ease with each other."

An insider saw the happy co uple nearby in the spring. "I saw them on April 1 at Leaf. They were laughing together and you could tell they were enjoying their meal. When they left they were holding hands. People left them alone, but eventually people started to realize who it was."

Just a few weeks later, they were spotted again at Halls Chophouse in the Upper King District of Charleston where an onlooker noted, "They seem like very happy and very content and relaxed. Nothing about the way they were acting was showy. It just looked like genuine love. It was natural." Is the next step buying a home in their special city?
