The eccentric singer has released her latest album 'Biophilia' as a series of interactive mobile applications, and believes by giving the listener the ability to manipulate the experience of the music she has set them free and broken boundaries, much like punk music did in the 70s.

She told NME magazine: "For 10 years I'd just been listening to people moan on about how the internet was killing music. And I was like, 'Hang on, technology is not the enemy of music.

"Maybe it's because we've let businessmen set up the model of how we distribute music. If artists would get involved... that's why I've been comparing this project to punk. Obviously not literally the songs, but it's kind of like when I was 16.

"When we wanted to put out an album, we put out an album. And made the poster ourselves."

Bjork is doing a number of residencies with 'Biophilia' in cities across the world, and hopes to update the apps and songs between them, as well as enabling her fans to swap versions of the music they have done themselves.

She added: "I think it's important, while the internet is still moving, to make it what you want it to be. Although then my mind was like, 'Uh oh, this is dangerous for a musician,' because I'm gonna be like, 'Can I add a glockenspiel in February?' Don't give me that option or my mind will go berserk."

The former Guns N' Roses guitarist has started recording his new record in Hollywood, and played early version of three tracks to 'That Metal Show' co-host Eddie Trunk, who was very excited about the results.

He tweeted: "Just back from the studio. Ruff mixes sound great. Played a few for Eddie Trunk. Said he dug it (sic)."

In reply, Eddie replied: "I can tell you the three songs I heard are heavy with killer riffs and vocals. It's the same band that he has been touring with last couple years on the album, and it sounds more cohesive because of it. Really strong!"

Slash has been in the studio with producer Eric Valentine and vocalist Myles Kennedy, rhythm guitarist Bobby Schneck, bassist Todd Kerns and drummer Brent Fitz.

Slash has previously said he is happy with the more "unified" sound of the record, particularly as he worked with one vocalist rather than a number of special guests, as he did on his first.

He said: "This one's definitely very focused. Very hard. Some of it's very heavy. It's got sort of a more unified sound to it, especially with one vocal all throughout."

He said: "Ultimately, you know who you are, I think. You can't hide. The work speaks for itself. Eventually you are going to see the film. You are going to see the work that person does, what that person produces, what that person directs and how you go about doing that, I guess, a story that could be told.

"Ultimately, it's about art and commerce. I think this story could be told in that business (Hollywood)."

Like George, Phillip has also tried his hand at directing with 2010 movie 'Jack Goes Boating', and despite what many may think he does not believe it is an ego trip for those in Hollywood.

He added to BANG Showbiz: "Well sometimes I think actors directing is about ego, and I don't think it is at all. I think sometimes you are an actor and you find out you like directing too. Sometimes actors give directing a try and they're no good at it. Most of the actors I know have no desire to direct. I think a lot of people assume actors want to direct, but it's not true."

She revealed: "I definitely see myself having a family with Eric, so that's exciting to think about."

The news of a granddaughter will also please Jessica's mother Tina as she recently revealed she would like more grandchildren to go with two-year-old Bronx, the son of her other daughter Ashlee Simpson and estranged husband Pete Wentz.

Yesterday (19.10.11) Catherine took her daughter Erin, eight - from a previous relationship - to school, but refused to make any comment on her relationship with Jason.

"Then he said, 'It was a great time though,' and I was like, 'Yeah, it was a f***ing good laugh.' It was cool man."

While Noel, 44, has put his feud with Damon behind him, his bitter fall out with his brother and former Oasis bandmate, Liam - which led to the band's split in August 2009 - continues, and it annoys Noel that he constantly gets mistaken for his sibling on the London Underground.

He added: "I always get this, 'Excuse me, mate, aren't you Liam Gallagher?' F**k's sake. Sometimes, even when they ask me, I say, no and they're like, 'You don't half look like him.'

"For all you budding famous people out there, the key is to keep a straight face: 'Are you Noel Gallagher, mate?' 'Nope.' 'Are you sure?' 'Yep.'"

The 'Knights of Cydonia' rockers - who have recently started work on their sixth album in London - have given a host of state-of-the-art music equipment to undergraduate musicians at the higher education college in the South West of England, near to Teignmouth, Devon, where they hail from.

A spokesman for the band - who were awarded honorary doctorates from the university in 2008 - said: "We're delighted to provide this equipment and hope it will inspire students to go on and create great music for years to come."

Professor David Coslett, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, added: "This is a wonderfully generous gesture from Muse and will provide exciting opportunities for our students to experience the kind of industry-standard equipment very few universities have access to.

"We are proud to be associated with the band, given their significant contribution to contemporary popular music and their links to the South West and the university."

The donated equipment will include a modular analogue synthesiser, two liquid channel pre-amps, and a set of specialist orchestral and instrumental microphones and the group have also stipulated that a portion of the donation should fund student prizes, rewarding innovation on their course over the next three years.

The actor has teamed up with John Krasinski to write the script for the as-yet-untitled drama, which they will both also star in.

The movie tells the story of a salesman (Damon), who arrives in a small town and has his entire life called into question.

'The Office' star Krasinski came up with the idea for the plot and developed the idea with author Dave Eggers. He then pitched the idea to Damon and they began working on the script.

They have now taken it to Warner Bros. and while the studio hasn't yet given it the go-ahead, it is thought it will soon.

Damon has been looking for a directorial project for a while and has also signed up for 'Father Daughter Time: A Tale of Armed Robbery and Eskimo Kisses'. However, it is thought he will helm the Krasinski drama first.

However, he is still concentrating on his acting career and recently revealed he wants to make another 'Bourne' movie.

The actor turned down the chance to star as spy Jason Bourne in a fourth instalment when director Paul Greengrass left the franchise, and despite the series being rebooted with Jeremy Renner in the lead role, he is still hopeful of returning to the character one day.

He said: "I was always fine with them doing another 'Bourne' movie as long as it didn't preclude me and Paul from doing another 'Bourne.'

"From what I understand, it doesn't at all, so that's fine. I really want to do another one with Paul and I'm sure it'll happen some day, but for now they're doing this. I'm keeping hope."

Michelle - who has two-year-old daughter Willow with her husband of six years - is now very cancer aware and "regrets" the fact she used to be a smoker, though she hopes quitting the deadly habit has minimised damage she caused to herself.

The 35-year-old beauty told the new issue of Health magazine: "I smoked for almost 10 years. I really regret that. Thankfully, I came out on the other side. I hope my lungs are repairing themselves now."

She added: "Thinking back to 2009 it feels so very long ago, a totally different era, but yet at the same time it feels like yesterday I stepped on to the 'Britain's Got Talent' stage.

"That year was about learning and adjusting and 'baby steps'. I must have said that phrase hundreds of times over, I'm surprised people didn't think I got my shoes in Mothercare!"

Susan, 50, has also revealed her third album 'Someone to Watch Over Me' has been recorded as a response to all the letters she has received from fans around the globe.

She said: "The album itself was like a journey of self-discovery. It takes you on the emotional roller-coaster of life.

"I only wish I had the time to respond to each and every letter. One thing that struck me was that it was folk of all ages who wrote, from 20 to 90 years of age and each letter was an inspiring insight into the lives of these people.

"The music on this album reflects the sadness, happiness and immense bravery of these people."

'Someone to Watch Over Me' sees Susan sing tracks including Depeche Mode's 'Enjoy the Silence', The Righteous Brothers' 'Unchained Melody' and Tears for Fears' 'Mad World' and is released on November 7.

The luxurious label - headed up by Donatella Versace - has teamed up with the Swedish high street brand to create a collection, which will include menswear, womenswear and homeware and Donatella promised it will show the "essence of Versace".

She said: "The collection for H&M is the essence of Versace. For the collaboration we've brought back from the archives, as well as from more recent collections, some of the icons of Versace, such as the bright prints, the Greek key and daring cuts. I can't wait to see how H&M's wide audience will make these pieces their own."

Margareta van den Bosch, creative advisor at H&M - who has masterminded collaborations with Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Comme des Garcons and Jimmy Choo in the past - has previously promised the collection would be "glamorous and flamboyant - everything Versace stands for".

She said: "Versace is one of the most important brands of recent times and their collection for H&M will be glamorous and flamboyant - everything Versace stands for. Donatella Versace is sharing with us iconic designs from the archives. This is such a celebratory collaboration and is perfect for the party season."

The collection will go on sale on November 17 and will be followed by a pre-spring collection that will be available online from January 19.

The project has been in development for nearly a year, before the Al-Qaeda leader behind the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York on September 11, 2001, was shot and killed in Pakistan in May.

A decision about the eventual release date will be made in the coming weeks.

Oscar-winner Kathryn is working with 'The Hurt Locker' screenwriter Mark Boal on the movie, and he was able to secure intimate access with the Navy SEAL (Sea, Air and Land) team who eventually killed the criminal mastermind.

Michael - who has a strained relationship with the actress and her mother Dina - has called for the court to force Lindsay to be tested for drugs and wants a sober coach appointed to ensure she stays on the right path.

Referring to yesterday's court hearing in Los Angeles at which Lindsay was cuffed and taken into custody after her probation was revoked, he told HollywoodLife.com: "I hate seeing my daughter in cuffs. She belongs in rehab! Why don't they institute drug testing? Get drug testing involved! Keep her straight! Make sure she's in an outpatient programme.

"They need to put a sober coach with her! A no nonsense sober coach! I'm sick of this, when she wants to be honest with herself and live up to her responsibility she'll turn her life around. But she has learned too much of the opposite from her mother."

The showbiz patriarch also wants all negative influences to be made to stay away from his daughter - who has been released from custody after her $100,000 bail was posted.

He said: "My mission is to get rid of all the people in her life that are kicking her down. I'm going to eliminate them from her life. I'm going to do all I can . not physically but I'm going to put them in a position where they can't be around her."

Justin also admitted he is a perfectionist and plans to record as many songs as he can until he finds a final 15 that he loves.

He explained: "It's almost time for my next album, so then everything starts over again. We've already started working on it, but we're going to be going in every day and working with new people and trying to find the best sound, because I'm going to be recording different styles, different things until I find a solid 15 songs that I love. Jon Bon Jovi has opened The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen in New Jersey for low-income families.

The 'Livin' on a Prayer' singer unveiled The Jon Bon Jovi Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, New Jersey, on Wednesday (19.10.11) and he admits his aim for the eatery is to provide low-income families with an affordable alternative to fast food.

He said: "At a time when one in five households are living at or below the poverty level, and at a time when one out of six Americans is food insecure, this is a restaurant whose time has come. This is a place based on and built on community - by and for the community."

The restaurant - which is located near Jon's hometown of Sayreville - started life as a "community kitchen" serving meals in various locations before making a 1,100 sq ft former garage its permanent home.

Customers have the option of either paying for their food or eat for free and work as volunteers and the "organic" and healthy dishes include pork chops with fig and apple chutney and rainbow beet salad.

However, Jon insists he won't be preparing any food because he is hopeless in the kitchen.

He said: "I'm an expert at washing dishes, but I can cook less than zero . But picture the coolest brasserie in your hometown, that's what this is. It's the hottest-looking restaurant in this town."

Recalling the incident, the hip hop artist says the actor had been drunkenly swaying in the Public House Bar and was asked by one man to "watch out". The actor replied, "Oh yea? Or what? What are you going to do about it?", before the pair stepped outside. Carter recalls how LaBeouf became aggressive when he told him not to re-enter the venue, with the actor allegedly saying, "Well what if I grabbed my knife on you?" He says Shia eventually walked away, only to reappear moments later to make a 'throat slashing gesture'. LaBeouf's spokespeople are yet to respond to the allegations.

The actor, in Vancouver to shoot Robert Redford's 'The Company You Keep', was spotted cycling in the city the following morning. He showed no signs of the fight, despite being punched in the face several times.

'The Office' star Krasinski came up with the idea for the plot and they then pitched the idea to Damon and they began working on the script.

They have now taken it to Warner Bros. and while the studio hasn't yet given it the go-ahead, it is thought it will soon.

Damon has been looking for a directorial project for a while and has also signed up for 'Father Daughter Time: A Tale of Armed Robbery and Eskimo Kisses'. However, it is thought he will helm the Krasinski drama first.

He admitted yesterday (19.10.11) that he managed to get drugs in prison while serving his sentence.

The 32-year-old man is believed to have owned up to possessing drugs from May through to last week after illegal substances were found in his cell.

Following his admission, Federal Judge Richard Berman questioned the security at two federal prison facilities.

At Cameron's trial in April - which was attended by Michael and his ex-wife Diandra Douglas - he was given half of the 10-year sentenced he faced and credit for eight months already served.

The DJ and actor told the court of a wish to turn his life around and become an "entertainer".

He explained: "I apologise to my family and my loved ones for putting them through this nightmare of my making.

"I ask for an opportunity to be a role model to my younger brothers and sisters."

Giuliana Rancic is recovery at home after undergoing a double lumpectomy following her recent revelation she is battling breast cancer. The E News anchor's husband Bill Rancic gave fans an update of her condition on the Today Show on Thursday (20th October 2011).

Speaking after his wife had undergone the surgery, Bill said, "She's a trouper, she pulled through it and was kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out and is doing well at home" He added that it had been "a long day", but explained he and Giuliana were remaining positive because the cancer was caught "very, very early". Although the E! host will now undergo radiation treatment, she is planning on returning to work next week, with Bill saying, "She's excited.But she's really viewing life a little bit differently. It's funny, when you go through a situation like this, it really turns the volume down on the things that really aren't that important". The television presenter first disclosed news of the cancer on the Today Show earlier this week, saying her Ivf doctor advised her to get a routine mammogram, which ultimately revealed the disease.

Rancic is best known for her regular anchoring duties at award ceremonies and red carpet events such as the Golden Globes, Academy Awards and the Emmys.

The controversial actress couldn't find the entrance to the Los Angeles County Morgue - where she has been ordered to work for 16 hours per week until her probation hearing on November 2nd - but her representative Steve Honig confirmed she will be returning tomorrow.

He told RadarOnline: "Lindsay arrived at the morgue approximately 20 minutes late and will be returning for orientation tomorrow.

"Her lateness was due to a combination of not knowing what entrance to go through and confusion caused by the media waiting for her arrival.

"Lindsay spoke with the supervisors at the morgue, they showed her how to get in and everything is all cleared up."

The 25-year-old star had her probation revoked in a Los Angeles courtroom yesterday (20.10.11) and she was led away in handcuffs and put in custody before her $100,000 bail was posted.

Judge Stephanie Sautner decided to revoke Lindsay's probation after she missed a number of community service sessions at the Downtown Women's Center.

The actress was ordered to do the community service as part of her sentence for stealing a $2,500 necklace in January.

She could face up to 18 months in prison if she's found guilty of violating her probation when she returns to court on November 2nd.

At Sunday's Game 4, actress Zooey Deschanel will be on hand to belt out the anthem. The star of new Fox sitcom 'New Girl' also performs as part of the indie pop duo She And Him.

MCCreery's first album 'Clear as Day' hit shelves on 4th October 2011, selling 197,000 copies in its first week. Scotty made history by becoming the first country act to top the Billboard 200 with their first studio album.

Tpr President Brian Robinson tells Women's Wear Daily, "(Nicole) has a wide breadth of creative talents being an author, a jewellery designer, a fashion designer and an aspirational figure. She also has three million Twitter followers, but more importantly she has trade credibility. She’s done a great job with her image."

Sarkozy And Bruni Feel 'Deep Joy' At Daughter's Birth


French President Nicolas Sarkozy has spoken of his "deep joy" after becoming a father again.

The leader's model/actress wife Carla Bruni gave birth to the couple's first child together in Paris on Wednesday night (19Oct11).

Sarkozy reveals his wife and newborn daughter are doing fine, but he isn't making the baby's name official yet. The French media claims the couple has chosen the name Julia.

He says, "All of you who are parents can understand the very deep joy that Carla and I feel. Each one of you can also understand that it's an even deeper joy because it is private.

"We have been lucky to have a very happy event take place. I will just keep to these few brief words to say to you that they are doing very well."

Sarkozy was reportedly in Frankfurt, Germany when his new daughter was born and jetted back to Paris late on Wednesday to meet the new arrival.

Sarkozy, who is also a grandfather, has three kids from his two previous marriages, while the Italian beauty, who previously dated Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton, is mother to 10-year-old Aurelian.

The couple wed in February, 2008.

Lindsay Lohan was turned away from the Los Angeles County Morgue on Thursday (20Oct11) after she arrived over 20 minutes late to begin her first day of community service there.

Lohan insists her tardiness was down to an honest mistake and she has thanked Coroner's office staff for helping to make sure she isn't late again on Friday (21Oct11).

In a post on Twitter.com, the actress writes, "I'm sorry for the confusion that I may of caused (sic) to those at the Coroner's office. Won't happen again, now I know where to go! Thank you for your help."

The Mean Girls actress was ordered to serve time at the County Morgue on Wednesday (19Oct11) after a Los Angeles judge frowned on her attempts to complete 360 hours at the city's Downtown Women's Center - community service she was handed earlier this year (11) as part of her probation following a shoplifting conviction.

It emerged last week (ends14Oct11) that bosses at the centre had terminated Lohan's arrangement because she had only completed a fraction of her required shifts.

The star's probation was ultimately revoked during a progress report hearing on Wednesday (19Oct11) and Judge Stephanie Sautner ordered Lohan to complete 16 hours at the Los Angeles County Morgue before her next court date on 2 November (11).

She was led out of the courtroom in handcuffs but posted $100,000 (£62,500) bail and walked free less than an hour later.

The actress was expected to begin her first day of community service at the County Morgue at 8am local time on Thursday and her assistant called ahead to alert staff members the star was on her way, but she arrived late and was turned away at the door.

Lohan's publicist has since released a statement, insisting the star's tardiness was based on "a combination of not knowing what entrance to go through and confusion caused by the media waiting for her arrival".

Lohan admits the trials and tribulations of the past 24 hours have been a lot to take in. She tweets, "With all of the stress and pressure from yesterday and today, I've never been so happy to go to therapy!!!!"

Bob Geldof's wildchild daughter Peaches is showing off her giving side by donating one of her favourite dresses to charity.

The socialite and TV presenter is taking part in the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children's (Nspcc) Clothes Aid appeal, which encourages the public to bid for celebrity fashion garments.

Geldof has handed over a patterned print dress to the cause.

A statement on the Nspcc's website reads, "(It is) in great condition and Peaches has been seen out and about in it. Peaches is a supporter of the Nspcc and would like as many bids as possible placed so that plenty of funds can be raised for the Nspcc."

In a series of posts on her Twitter.com page, Geldof writes, "Bid on my dress for the Nspcc Clothes Aid charity: One of my much-loved wardrobe faves is up for grabs 4 a good cause! To bid on my dress for charity click the link."

She then directs her fans to the Clothes Aid website, where devotees can bid on celebrity clothes by donating their own wardrobe items.
